If you are travelling from Wanganui take S H 4 until you pass through Upokongaro then take the 2nd turning to the left on to the Whanganui River Road.Drive a further 16 ks along this scenic country road to reach Rivertime Lodge.

If you are approaching from the north ( Taupo or Tongariro National Park ) turn right at Raetihi into the main street and continue onto the Whanganui River Road. It is 27 ks to Pipiriki where the road meets the Whanganui River and 48 ks to Rivertime Lodge just south of Atene.Some parts of the road are unsealed and narrow but it is well worth the journey to experience the stunning scenery and historic places along the way. Allow about 1 ½ hrs drive from Raetihi.

Alternatively, from Raetihi go south on SH4 towards Wanganui for 87 ks to the Whanganui River Road then 16 ks to Rivertime Lodge.
